🌊🦦 Wish 'n Wash 🎰🧼

In a world where soap is scarce, the working class goes to the Wish 'N Wash laundromat and casino in order to win soap to wash their clothes. 3DINTERNET can be seen frequenting here, hanging out in the LAN lounge or streaming to Twinch while SonicStyle keeps the place in order. The Wish 'N Wash is its own closed ecosystem housing many creatures such as Dustgumm bunnies, MAUSMAUS, and Washerotters who all maintain a fine balance of the machines used to win and wash.

This project was conceptualized by Nicole Ruggiero and PLANTTDADDI and was inspired by their experience in the Web 3 crypto space. The animation series was created using a motley of different 3D software including: Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Cinema 4D, Octane Render, Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. The 3D prints were created with an 8K Elegoo Saturn 2 resin printer.

In 2023, Wish 'N Wash won the first place for the Artizen Grant, allowing the two artists to concentrate on the project and to focus on advancing their animation pipeline skills, for much of that year.

Below are various animations, created by either Nicole Ruggiero or as a collaboration between Nicole Ruggiero and PLANTTDADDII, that exist in the Wish N Wash universe.

In LINT SPRINT!, 3DINTERNET plays a game on the arcade washing machine, while a dusttgum bunny runs in and out of the various compartments. Clawz! the Spacekat makes an unlikely appearance, spooking 3DINTERNET.

Clawz! the Spacekat also appears in their own animation, happily floating in space; while 3DINTERNET pulls off a Nollie Clickflip right below. In Lunch Break, SonicStyle hangs out with his companion, DemonBubble, who enjoys munching on some soap, while a MAUSMAUS patrols the floor, looking for some dropped candy.

Lastly, the MAUSMAUS have a series of their own animations. First, 20000000000 XP features a character select screen, inspired by old Nintendo games. In this animation, an invisible player controlling a hand cursor is selecting their favorite MAUSMAUS for an upcoming race. Below that animation, in the MAUSMAUS: Hit the Streets compilation, we get introduced to each MAUSMAUS variation and their favorite hobbies and interests.

Below are some 3D prints created with an 8K Elegoo Saturn 2 Resin printer. Each of the characters below also exist within the Wish N Wash universe. The Mishy and Compys are finished with with acrylic paint and varnish, while the Squishy MAUSMAUS were created from silicone poured into a 3D printed mold.

The MAUSMAUS were already introduced in two animations above, but the Mishys and Compys have their own backstory. The following is a blurb about the Mishys:

Behold The Mishys, beings bound by routine. As the sun sets and the moon rises, they emerge from their lairs, eager to indulge in their habitual feast of 3-4 cups of coffee. Despite relying solely on the coffee bean for sustenance, they perpetually exhibit signs of lethargy, trapped in a perpetual state of drowsiness, perhaps due to their half-awake, half-asleep existence.

The Compys existence is a bit simpler; acting as a personification of ancient tech, they exist in the underground to help the resistance remember the past, before late-stage accelerationism took over.
