Viacom Velocity PowerPoint Designs

From 2014 to 2016, Nicole Ruggiero worked at Viacom Velocity, designing editable Microsoft PowerPoints for Viacom's cross-network sales team. These PowerPoint designs provided a polished, on-brand design while allowing the team to customize text as needed. Most of the title text and design elements were created externally in Adobe Illustrator, then exported and imported into PowerPoint, while the body text remained editable.

The Viacom television networks Ruggiero primarily worked with are as follows: MTV, MTV2, Logo, VH1, CMT, Comedy Central, Spike, and TVland. Sometimes the presentations were created for pitches for a specific network's partnership with a brand. Other times, and what you will primarily see below, are the presentations that were created as cross-network campaign pitches.

Viacom Cross-Network Upfront Deck (2015)

An upfront is the annual period when major television networks present their new programming lineups to advertisers, allowing them to secure advertising time in advance for the upcoming season. The following slides were created for Viacom's Cross-Network Upfront Deck in 2015 using Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator. The presentation focuses on a punchy design, with each network assigned its own color for differentiation. As presenters page through, the slides feel more like an animation than a typical PowerPoint. Below, you can see that on the Comedy Central slides, the circle and text move around the design, highlighting important shows and events. Ruggiero also created an animation for one of the slides to visualize Viacom's cross-network, cross-platform compatibility.

Viacom Velocity Fall Sales Deck (2016)

The Viacom Velocity Fall Sales Deck was created in 2016 using Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator as an overarching presentation for the fall sales quarter. It explores combined metrics for Viacom's networks, highlighting top-performing events, talent, and initiatives. The design features swirling elements created in Adobe Illustrator, weaving throughout the presentation to unify the slides under a single theme.

Miscellaneous Presentation Slides and Animations

All the designs highlighted below, except for the Digital Impact design, were created at Viacom between 2014 and 2016 as assets for presentations. The Digital Impact design was created in 2024 as the cover for a presentation during a week-long workshop that Ruggiero taught at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland. The static designs were created in Adobe Illustrator, while the animations were made in Adobe After Effects.
